I had the privilege of teaching the AI module of the video game program at IIM, mentoring 17 students for a week on the design and development of artificial intelligence for video games.
The challenge of the module was to design ships that would compete against each other in a final tournament, where each team needed to innovate in terms of AI to ensure victory. As the lead of AI module design, my main mission was to assist these students in turning their concepts into a functional reality. I worked hand in hand with a trainer specialized in Unity development, effectively bridging the gap between design and development of the project.
My teaching method was proactive: I discussed AI theory with the students, identified weaknesses in their designs and encouraged them to delve deeper to achieve a more efficient AI. I particularly enjoyed seeing students overcome these challenges and continually improve their designs.
